Reportage Wedding Photography Reportage wedding photography, often called photojournalistic wedding photography, is a style of photography that simply documents a wedding without interfering or influencing the images taken in any way. It’s about capturing the decisive moment without making it happen resulting in a unique set of natural, uncontrived photographs. To shoot reportage wedding images successfully requires a skillful photographer with a quick eye and the ability to anticipate peoples reactions in advance. They must work sensitively and unobtrusively to capture those split-second details, expressions, mannerisms and interactions that make each subject unique. Weddings make an ideal event for this style of photography. The reportage wedding photographer will have many opportunities to discreetly take shots without the subjects even being aware that they are being photographed resulting in pictures that have a natural and relaxed feel to them.
